It is not easy to evaluate fireworks by beauty or artistic performance, so let’s try to find out about those fireworks that have broken records in terms of duration and magnitude.
According to the latter parameter, the record holder is the fireworks produced in Dubai in honor of the New Year 2014. Its duration was about 6 minutes, and more than 450 thousand pyrotechnic charges were used to launch. On the 100-kilometer beach and nearby islands, about 400 positions were built, from which shells were launched. The most memorable moment was the pyrotechnic embodiment of the UAE flag, 225 meters long and 135 meters wide.
The previous record was set during the Constitution Day in Kuwait. This event took place in November 2012, and during the show, about 77 thousand pyrotechnic shells were used. The Kuwaiti authorities spent more than $ 15 million on fireworks.
Unforgettable fireworks can be seen every New Year’s Eve in London. The largest fireworks in history is considered to be the one that was launched in 2013. Its duration was a record 81 seconds, and more than 50,000 pyrotechnic rockets were used in all 12,000 fireworks.
The fireworks display, which was launched in 2013 in Hong Kong, on the coast of Victoria Harbor, is probably also in the world marks. Volleys were fired from ships and the show lasted 30 minutes.
One of the most gigantic fireworks was launched on the island of Hokkaido in 1988. For its implementation, a charge weighing 700 kg and a diameter of 138 cm was used. The shot was fired from a floating platform, and the diameter of the explosion of the pyrotechnic rocket was more than 1300 meters.
In 1988, the longest fire snake was launched in Jahor, Malaysia. Its length reached 6 km, and it burned for more than 9.5 hours. Its creators used more than 3 million firecrackers and more than 650 kg of gunpowder.
The longest fireworks display was the “firefall” organized in the Japanese city of Nagano in 1997; its length was about 3000 meters.
The fireworks called “Fiery Sun” are considered to be the largest in diameter. The duration of the show was 225 seconds, and the size of the “sun” reached a record 15.5 meters. This event happened in 1992 in the American city of Idaho Falls.
