FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Fireworks Safety Group Goes Online Launches website at www.fireworksafety.com. Washington, D.C. — The National Council on Fireworks Safety (NCFS) has gone online to educate consumers and public safety officials about the safe use of fireworks. For the millions of Americans who will use fireworks this July to celebrate Independence Day, the site offers timely information that will help ensure a safe Fourth of July holiday. For parents, there's a quiz to test their knowledge of fireworks safety. For public safety officials, the site offers storage, classification and emergency response information. Visitors will also find state laws, injury data, information on choosing safe fireworks and breaking news. The fireworks Internet site is part of an annual, nationwide program aimed at educating the millions of people who celebrate Independence Day with consumer fireworks -- especially children. In addition to its web site, the Council distributes public service announcements, conduct interviews and provides safety material to fire service personnel, safety organizations and more. For more details on the new site or to get additional safety information, please contact the National Council on Fireworks Safety at (202) 349-7127. |
